Drawing is my hobby and I get a lot of enjoyment out of it. It is how I relax. I continue to work at it but I have a difficult time drawing my own original work. I have come up with a few things in the last year or so that aren't terrible. However, I typically have to have a picture to go by. Just to give me an idea of how to make it all flow. As I said I have been working on this doing my own original artwork and I am improving, but I honestly enjoy trying to draw things I see. There are some amazing artists out there and on here.
It is a challenge and I like to think a show of respect to those individuals who inspire me. I draw things from comics, online galeries, books, magazines, and so on... I typically print out a picture and then place it next to a blank sheet and go from there. So my artwork will look similar to the one that I am working off of. If I remember where I got the idea from I will post in the pic descritption as I feel the artist who inspires me deserves probably most of the credit. I have never had any formal training and probably work completely backwards. As I start from the outside and work my way in. Either way, I enjoy it and it is a lot of fun!
My two boys give me lots of inspiration and I really enjoy when I can draw something they want and/or like. My oldest really enjoys drawing too. It is a very special time for old dad when we can sit down and draw together.
